The community is amazing and they have made some cool top 5 plays videos for any of you looking for realistic tactical and skill based fpsers to get into. It's basically like the book/movie Battle Royale (which is where the hunger games came from) where 30-50 people get dropped on an island and you have to scavenge for loot while the area of play shrinks constantly until everyone kills each other and only 1 person is left to win the round. I got back into FPS'ers mostly ARMA 3 Battle Royale, which is insanely fun. I really enjoyed it for what it was, but after Averturine stopped updating it and the players left I had to move on - this was like beginning of the year. I played Darkfall Unholy Wars, but sadly not during it's peak. Does anyone have input on if RoA is better than ND, and what the player base is like for either of them? Any information on launch dates? I am genuinely interested to play either if it's worth it, even after being let down by DFUW. I actually downloaded New Dawn, but never played it as I chose to delve into AO and I'm regretting that decision given where this game has ended up. I had the option to beta test AO or either of the two Darkfalls coming out. Now, I understand that if graphics are that important to you, I cannot change that, and it's fine, everybody has their opinion. There are exceptions, for example Rockstar and CD Projekt Red, but you cannot expect indy companies working on niche games like Albion or Darkfall to be able to spent that kind of money on graphics. Most devs of recent games spend a lot of time and money on graphics, and a lot less in quality content and mechanics. I would have to argue that it even is the contrary.
Not sure why you get that as shit talking? All I am saying is that I find it weird that of all the things that you could dislike about the game, you talk about production quality, when discussing it on the boards of another indy game with graphics that are probably 20 times worse. why you have to shit talk over my opinion? It is a combination of classical MMO pvp with abilities, cooldowns, potions, etc, mixed with FPS mechanics with 100% crisp true aiming.Īre you one of those "people need to think like me or they are wrong" people? You like it?.
It is a full loot MMORPG with player cities, territory control, crafting, PVE, etc, etc, and more importantly, it has by far the best pvp mechanics of any MMO I ever played.
In a sense it's a similar game to Albion (which I played in beta and plan to try at launch).
Closed beta is open and free until October 24th. If you like Albion, I highly suggest you give it a try. They have made multiple changes, at a really fast pace compared to what AV ever did, that were so far mostly aimed at making the New Player experience better, and increasing the quality of life. The director of marketing and communication is the guy that was voted by the community in DF:UW to be the leader of the MVP forums, a forums where players could discuss ideas from the community with devs.Īs for FashoBro comment, I don't think they have been catering for themselves. The director of development was the leader of a big clan of all types of players, RK, that was around the whole time DFO was up, and actually was at war with Jonah's clan (the clan Brick says have the license, which couldn't be further from the truth). Just to give you a few examples, the CEO was one of the leaders of the clan NEW, a clan dedicated to help new players. The team at BPG is made of players coming from a lot of different type of clans.
